Uv Attractant
A UV attractant is a product or material that reflects or reacts to ultraviolet light to make bait or gear more noticeable to fish. Many species of fish can see into the ultraviolet range that people cannot, so UV highlights can make bait look brighter or more lifelike underwater. These attractants are available as sprays, gels, powders, or built-in pigments in lures and baits, and they boost contrast where ordinary colors may fade. Anglers add them to bait or buy lures made with UV materials to improve visibility in murky water, low light, or at depth. The reason this matters is that UV cues can trigger a stronger response from fish that rely on sight to find prey. Results vary by species and conditions, so anglers often test different products and strengths to see what works best. Application is usually simple—coat or mix the attractant with bait—but effectiveness depends on the fish’s vision, water clarity, and background. Using UV attractants can increase strikes, but anglers should follow local regulations and avoid overuse that might harm the environment.
